In Morocco, GITEX Africa 2024 is gearing up to welcome major players in technology and startups from around the world.

Morocco will host the second edition of “GITEX Africa,” the largest technology expo in Africa, from May 29 to 31, 2024, in Marrakech. This announcement has been met with enthusiasm, positioning this event as the spearhead of technology expos on the African continent, with a promise to even surpass the success of its first edition, according to AFP. Indeed, the “GITEX Africa Morocco” of 2023 was a resounding success, attracting over 900 startups, 250 renowned speakers, and 100 government representatives. This dynamic was manifested by the conclusion of numerous partnership agreements and the launch of the “North Star Africa” platform, dedicated to supporting African startups. For this new edition, the organizers aim for even more impressive figures, with the anticipated participation of over 1000 startups from 50 African countries, 300 world-renowned speakers, and 150 official delegations, as revealed by MAP.

Morocco, as the host country of GITEX Africa, plays a central role in the evolution of the African technological ecosystem, positioning itself as a true regional tech hub, attracting investors and talents from all over the world. It offers fertile ground for the development of startups, with a favorable regulatory framework, facilitated access to financing, and a flourishing entrepreneurial ecosystem. Furthermore, major global technology companies recognize Morocco’s potential and are increasingly choosing to establish their operational bases there, due to its strategic position as a gateway to the rapidly expanding African market.
